Do you have a physical store location? Where are you located?
Our store has specialized in Academic Software since 1995. All of the software products advertised on our website are “academic versions” unless the product description states explicitly that it is non-academic.
Academic versions of software, specially priced for qualifying users, are not intended for commercial use. Academic versions are made available by the manufacturers and are fully licensed and delivered in factory-sealed retail boxes. Different software manufacturers sometimes have different policies regarding who may qualify for their academic pricing. Below you will find the specific qualifications from each manufacturer. In general, however, students, teachers, schools, and staff at degree-granting educational institutions and employees of school districts generally may purchase academic versions. You will need to demonstrate the academic status of the software user (yourself, your school, your family member, your friend etc.). Image copies of current dated student ID, teacher ID and school staff ID are acceptable. General steps to order software products are as follows:
Find the software you need and determine if you can provide proof of qualification for the items chosen. (Please check question 4 of this FAQ for a general qualification table. You may also call us at 714-963-2332 or 877-762-7876 if you have questions)
Place the order and obtain the order number. (Your order number and detailed information regarding how to send the proof of qualification will be displayed after successful payment).
E-mail or fax the proof of academic status with your order number.
How do I send in proof of my academic status?
Most students are able to go to their school’s web site and view a listing of the classes they are enrolled in. If that is the case with your school, just do the following:
-
Log into the school’s site, go to the page that shows your classes
-
Take a screen shot of that page by pressing ALT-PRNT SCRN on your keyboard. This is done by holding down the ALT key and then pressing PRNT-SCRN which is the key usually next to the F12 key or nearby it in the upper right part of your keyboard.
-
Open Microsoft Word or whatever your word processing program is.
-
Hit CTRL-V by holding down the CTRL key and pressing the letter “V” at the same time.
-
Your screen shot will appear in the Word document.
-
Save the Word document with a file name containing your order number. For example if your order number was 45667, then the file name would be 45667.doc or 45666.docx (if you have Word 2007).

What is Academic Software? Why is the price so low?
Academic software is full version software with a special discount for academic users. When purchasing academic software, the customer must present proof of end user’s academic status. In return, eligible customers enjoy a very low discounted price (20%~80% discount from commercial prices). Current students, teachers, school staff and educational institutions can prove their academic status by presenting dated proof of academic status. Examples are a dated copy of student/teacher/staff picture ID, official class registration receipt, school pay stub or a letter with school letterhead that confirms the user’s academic status. (Please refer to the general qualification table in question 4 of this FAQ.) Academic institutions and their departments may present an official letter as proof.
Academic software products are fully licensed. You will be able to register the software with the software vendor and receive technical support from the software vendor support programs. Their features are IDENTICAL to their correspondent commercial version products unless explicitly stated in the product description.
I am not a student, faculty or staff. Can I buy for someone else?
Yes. You may pay for the software for a student, faculty or staff who qualifies for the products you are buying, but you must provide proof of the end-user’s academic software qualification before we can ship the products.
